Perfect for emergencies.
I was in an accident and held in ICU overnight unexpectedly. My young cat was fed by a friend that evening but once home I got this feeder right away so we are never in that predicament again. The feeder works great and I'm so glad I got it. The base is sturdy, the locking top is secure (although my cat is pretty laid back and wouldn't try to knock it over or bust it apart), and I love that it has a battery and plug so there is always a backup power source. Note that it does not alert you when it is running low on food, so you do have to monitor it and be attuned to your cat's needs and care. I don't know any cat who won't let you have it if a meal is missed! But still, we need to be caring for our pets. This isn't a replacement in that regard. I highly recommend this product when used with proper monitoring.
